The fall of Berlin wall was an accomplished action by the west.

It is a victory for freedom and western culture, but many in other parts of the world do not think so. They are still holding their repressive regime, and taking advantages of recent economic turmoil to spread the idea that freedom is not suitable for their countries. I hope NATO can keep on giving hope to the world.

Berlin Wall didn’t fall; it simply moved eastward, regardless of all (even bloody) efforts of eastern-Europeans. And that second Wall was and is now built by efforts of Western Europe.

  6. We found the testimony of Anders Fogh Rasmussen incredible! This is a bright exemplar aimed on cooperation and solidarity, not on confrontation. The fall happened because of common and natural desire to destroy diverse hurdles by nations of Europe and nations of former USSR. We trust the best parts of these nations are still on the road of cooperation . And that makes no difference who was the first, the point is if we are the followers and partisans of those champions of freedom or not. And we should work hard on the road. Secretary General Rasmussen’s words inspire us – in NATO and Partner Countries- greatly. We hope our modest cooperative activity ( please, see for example http://www.pitt.edu/~super1/BH/Milan5.html ) supports in a measure the ideas outlined in the deep speech.

The Berlin wall was necessity 40-50 years as that atrocity what was shown by fascism to all world should be stopped.
Freedom the right of each person, but not everyone can correctly use it. Also it is necessary to highly appreciate the western Germans which skilfully having taken advantage of the freedom not only left ruins but and also have transformed the Western Germany into one of the developed countries, the aspiration of east Germans to clearing of Sovesky fetters and reunion of two brotherly states became result of that.

“Freedom” is a good word. But do not forget the role of the former communistic parties transformed into “socialistic”. Do not forget the “sleeping houses” of the former USSR! Do not forget the Islamic fundamentalism in Europe and the developed countries!

I am a little bit dissapointed that Secretary General did not mention the Solidarity in Poland in his speach. When the wall was destroyed Poland was already a free country. So the Berlin wall as the symbol of communism ending is not an appropriate one. From your speach one can have an impression that Germany was the most imporant hero of anticomunism battle. They were not!!!! They would like to be very much but for the people who know real history thy are not.
