The London Conference: The way to peace and security for Afghanistan

Comments

Well, we can't argue much on

Well, we can't argue much on whether the invasion was legal or not. It has been done. What we should look forward to is how to resolve the issues and install peace and security in the country. With hundreds of men, women and children dead, injured and homeless. It is high time we thought about it's stability after their years of battling with different countries. Afghanistan sadly has never seen the light of development or prosperity. It has always been invaded by different countries and its population has never seem to increase due to the many dead. We all should think about it's growth and sustainability rather than fighting over some words.

I hope not only Afghanistan

I hope not only Afghanistan will be the country that being discussed for peace and security. There's so many countries out there needs this as well. The world will not become any better if the whole world is peaceful. But I think this is not possible.
It's already hard to kill mosquitoes for striking, how is it possible to do something this large scale to human? Or if they really are human?

And I want to tell you that

And I want to tell you that we need peace and stability in Afghanistan.

We need a peaceful, open to cooperation with all, stable, united and strong Islamic Afghanistan!

We do not have problems with any of our neighboring states or any other state in the world.

We are ready for diplomatic relations with all countries of the world.

We came to Afghanistan in 1994, while the country was in chaos and ruin, we did not destroy the country, it was happening by the pro-American so-called "mujahideen", you know it very well mister Rassmussen!

We came to establish peace, stability and order in the country, while all others in the world were watching at it without any emotion and did not show any initiative in establishing peace and stability in the country when it was necessary, and you it also very well mister Rassmussen.

WE, the same people who took the initiative and decided to rid the country of strife, from crime, drug trafficking and many other problems, such as robbery, trafficking in organs, rape and kidnapping, but when you have installed present regime over there, all these crimes again became something normal, without NATO's interference in it.

But you know that those warlords who were engaged and involved in drug trafficking, currently in power in Kabul, and they came to power not because of their own valor and courage and honesty, but rather because they were supported and brought to power by powerful world powers and organisations, such as your NATO and others, and thus in the eyes of the entire Afghan nation, they are puppets, bear this in mind mister Rassmussen!

We are for peace and cooperation with Russia, China, India, Iran and all those countries whose troops are not currently located in the territory of Afghanistan!

We are also ready to cooperate with any country in the world, who wishes to withdraw its troops from our country and will conduct honest and open policy with us, and your homeland - Denmark is not an exception!

We have to respect the sovereignty of all countries of the world as we have respected your sovereignty you should also respect our sovereignty!

We stand for world to be a stronger, peaceful, and to perform its policies in the interest of stability in the globe, including the benefit of all countries in the region, in order to prevent the development of destructive interests on the Eurasian continent, such as warlordism, drug trafficking and corruption!

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has always taken a tough stance in the fight against all of these problems, and you know it mister Rassmussen!

As you can see, modern slogans of democracy completely unable to carry out the truly profound reforms and cannot be helpful in solving the acute problems faced by our people!

As you also have witnessed recently, Afghan society is not ready for parliamentary democracy, it is too young for it and unable to implement the global development plan which was clearly described in the Millennium Report by the UN Secretary General!

Afghan society needs first and foremost a true peace, stability and strong, centralized and unitary state, free from corruption, with a free and fair judicial system!

I hope the day will come when the world learns the whole truth, and justice will prevail and then all will know the truth about 9-11, as you are mentioning it very often in your daily speeches.

Peace to you and blessing of our Lord Almighty!

Thanks for your courteous

Thanks for your courteous response, John. NATO's invasion of AfG was about as "legal" as the invasion of Iraq which was approved by the UN "post facto"! Whatever the legal niceties it was certainly a monumentally illogical and ill considered action as events have proved. No-one is more repulsed by executions than I but on that basis you'd have NATO invading Texas - the death penalty capital of America - or Saudi Arabia, or China or many other unsavoury regimes. The bald fact is that in nearly the time taken by 2 world wars NATO has not made any appreciable progress in AfG so must now be considered part of the problem NOT the solution. I would love to see peace and prosperity in AfG but it just aint gonna happen under NATO so let's get real and get out!!

Dear David, I would like

Dear David,

I would like to react to your statement.
First of all, there was nothing illegal concerning NATO’s engagement in Afghanistan. The mission carried out was approved by the UN in several resolutions. If that doesn’t make it legal, I don’t know what could have.

It is an insult to call Afghans peasants. But point taken, NATO did have civilian casualties due to wrong intelligence or imprecise attacks.

I’m afraid to ask, but would you rather have seen the terror the Taliban above NATO’s mission? Al Qaeda or not, it doesn’t matter to me. The fact that the Taliban was killing innocent people on a daily bases for absurd reasons, for me, was reason enough to interfere. I hope I don’t have to remind you of the public executions of women in a stadium for the mere fact that they showed “flesh” (read an ankle or their bare hand) in public.

NATO isn’t perfect and as far as I know, nobody is claiming it is.
Having so many countries in a joint military operation cannot be easy. Especially when certain nations took command of regions, but don’t want to take the responsibility they said they were going to take (e.g. what happened in Kunduz, where the Germans make a mistake).

I find it easy to complain, but please don’t complain without using good, valid arguments.

Thanks,

John

Mmmm, yes, brave words indeed

Mmmm, yes, brave words indeed but NATO could have saved itself a lot of trouble and made a lot more progress in "peacemaking" if it hadn't illegally invaded Afg' in the first place, nor regularly massacred hundreds of defenceless peasants with incompetent airstrikes! Perhaps we should be careful whom we call "terrorists"!! If the combined military might of America and NATO hasn't prevailed against a rag-tag bunch of tribal fighters in over 8 years of interference then realistically they're not EVER going to win however many new troops get sucked in, so spare yourselves further humiliation and disgrace and, in Anders words, "run for the exits"!

Thank you Mr. Rasmussen for

Thank you Mr. Rasmussen for the information on facebook as to the NATO and international meeting taking place in London.
We all must thank our leaders for their huge effort in the peacemaking process. It seems so hopeless at times ... BUT please never give up in order to destroy a terrible "pocket" of people, in the hope and fight for world peace.
