Why does smoking weed turn your lips black and is it permanent?

So, I realize this is an old post, but I thought I’d leave a remark nonetheless. I’ve been using marijuana for nearly 15 years. Yes, it does darken your lips. Yes, it does, and anybody who argues otherwise is either misinformed or dishonest. I’m not sure why it makes the lips black. That is the question I searched, which lead me here. No, not permanently. Again, I’ve been a smoker for the last 15 years. I know there are a lot of claims made about cocoa butter, but trust me when I say this is true. If you get 100 percent cocoa butter with nothing else in it, no fragrances, no colors, no other moisturizers, NOTHING, it should come in either a tube or a bar, and you should apply it regularly, immediately after smoking and throughout the day. Your lips’ natural color will return.

If you use it and stop smoking, they will retain their original color after you have achieved it. If you use it and continue to smoke, be sure to use it shortly AFTER you smoke and throughout the day. Because the skin of the lips is so thin, it ages and regenerates considerably quicker than other skin cells. That being said, other ingredients may work as well, but I recommend getting 100 percent pure cocoa butter (made by Cocoa Care “The Yellow Stick”) at CVS for $2 or less. Other ORGANIC shops also offer it by the stick and bar.

Don’t be alarmed if your lips seem somewhat darker after using the cocoa butter. LOL. Within a week, you should see them lightening, and if used correctly, they should approach your natural lip color within a month. Probably a lot less. I keep cocoa butter on hand!

I hope this helps, and here’s to pouty, pink lips!
